Venezuela’s President, Hugo Chávez, has concluded a number of agreements in Cuba with the country's acting President Raul Castro.

Chavez met ailing Cuban President Fidel Castro on Saturday during his visit to the country to mark the fortieth anniversary on Friday of the execution of revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara. The event was televised and included Castro’s first appearance on television since February. It was recorded and then broadcast on Sunday during a live interview with Chavez, during which Castro telephoned to speak to him on air.

The recorded footage had Castro and Chavez singing songs of praise to Guevara.
