Dan Brown has won his fight against Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh who argued that he had stolen the idea for The Da Vinci Code from their original story written in 1982 entitled “The Holy Blood And The Holy Grail”

Dan Brown stood in the witness box and gave evidence over a period of several days on behalf of his publishers Random House.

Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh who accused Dan Brown of stealing large sections of their story now face a legal bill of over £3million.

The two writers had claimed that it was their initial research and findings that showed that the blood line of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene had continued to this day and that there exists a direct descendant of Jesus Christ.

Dan Brown has been writing successfully for over 15 years and his first three novels had little success, but the fourth novel, The Da Vinci Code, became a bestseller.

To date, The Da Vinci Code has sold over 65 million copies worldwide. The Times estimated his income from 'Da Vinci Code' sales as $250 million.

Brown’s latest novel ‘The Solomon Key’ is centered around the secrets surrounding the mysterious and ancient society of the Freemasons and it set to become another big hit.
