The 36-year-old had pleaded guilty in January to assaulting her housekeeper, Ana Scolavino, after throwing a jewel encrusted, BlackBerry, mobile phone at her during a petty dispute over a pair of jeans.

The model was ordered to attend anger management classes and was also fined £187 for the incident, a fee that would cover the housekeeper’s medical expenses.

She reported for her 8am shift unusually on time but in typical glamour model manner, swinging hips and sporting inappropriate, six-inch high, stilettos, surrounded by a mass media frenzy of reporters and television crews.

Albert Durrell, a Sanitation Department spokesman revealed that Campbell did manage to swap the glitzy footwear for more practical looking working boots that were originally slung over her shoulder. “She came ready to work. I understand she came in stiletto heels, but she changed into her combat boots."

For the five-day duration of her sentence, Campbell will have to work seven-hour shifts, which will incorporate two daily breaks, and she will be assigned various routine cleaning tasks.

"If the toilets require to be cleaned, she will clean them along with her co-workers. She will be sweeping along the garage floor, sweeping the offices. We also have locker rooms, bathrooms; she will be cleaning, mopping. We have windows that need to be cleaned so she'll be doing some of that." Albert Durrell added.

The Streatham born millionaire will face a return to court should she refuse to carry out any of the jobs she is requested to perform. Looking every bit the catwalk star, Ms Campbell brought some glamour to a grim area of Manhattan’s East Side docks in what was realistically never going to be an understated entrance.

Campbell ambled past in trademark black sunglasses, a sophisticated short black coat and elegant brown trousers. Her soldier like boots were the only feature that suggested some manual labour.

The multi-millionaire’s punishment follows along similar lines to fellow celebrity Boy George. The singer was sentenced to clean-up duty on the New York streets for five-days after falsely reporting a burglary and having possession of illegal drugs.

Unlike George, Campbell is being allowed to complete her duties behind closed doors to avoid the media chaos that followed George when he swept the city streets last summer.

Upon being sentenced two months ago, Campbell’s lawyer remarked that she wasn’t
Cut out for cleaning and would be of better use at a local hospital working with patients.

Campbell has faced the allegations of abuse from three of her employees and puts her ferocious temper down to her resentment towards her father who abandoned her as a child.

It's reported that Campbell will auction off her service uniform following her five-day stint, with all proceeds going to charity.

I particularly love the comma's and apostrophe's!

Naomi
Learn to use commas and apostrophes, please.

The commas in your headline are extraneous--it's just "Supermodel Naomi Campbell Begins...".

Also, in your mission statement, you use "it's" (short for "it is"--always!) instead of "its", which a possessive pronoun.
