The Fast Show 2008 sponsored bt Marangoni Tyres took place at the Santa Pod raceway on Sunday 9th March and marked the opening season for Santa Pod and the Start of the modified car and crusing scene.

The weather theatened, but thankfully held off so the crowd enjoyed a day of fast cars, drifting displays and glamourous ladies

The Santa pod strip was the main arena for the "run wot ya brung" where you paid your fee and drove your car down the strip against the clock, with prize's for the fastest in each category. A wide veriety of vehicles took to the strip ranging from front and rearwheel drive to american muscle and things that are basically not street legal. One of the quickest of the day was Nick George in his Chevrolet Corvette who covered the quater mile in 10.9 seconds at 128.24mph.

Away from the strip, there was still plenty going on with car clubs from all over the UK displaying their impressive collection of vehicles, the best of which were entered in the Autoglym show car paddock. A wide range of cars were entered and the best of all was a spectacular Peugeot 206 in Lamborghini yellow belonging to Nick Carter. The car was far from standard, with custom bodywork and plenty of performance upgrades. This car was modified to the highest standards with a brave choice of wheel size aided by an exceptional amount of hydraulics to help lower the car.

Next to the show car  paddock was the live stage hosted by DJ Richie Don, fresh from MTV "Pimp My Ride". Apart from the dancers on stage, there was also The Miss Fast Show competition which this year was won by Miss Alexandra Pugh from Hertfordshire.

The highlight of the main stage had to be the appearance of Uk Glamour model Louise Glover, a favorite of mens mags such as Loaded and FHM and The Sun and the Daily  Star not to mention several shoots for American Playboy. A low cut Lycra catsuit certainly drew the crowd the the live stage. Photos of the appearance can be vieved on the Functionpix gallery.

Apart from all this there was still space for a drifting display, Terry Grant Stunt Show, The Santa Pod Jet Car,  a monster truck display and if you visited Fuelers Bar you were able to watch a Pole Dancing show, headlined by UK glamour model Elise.

Not forgetting the sponsor Marangoni Tyres who had the pitstop challenge going on as well as 4 scantilly clad dancers and a DJ.
